Ana Peana, LMHC
Executive Director/Clinical Director
Ana is a licensed psychotherapist and qualified clinical supervisor with extensive experience in working with families in crisis and individuals in a dual diagnosis setting. As a former Chief Operations Officer and program supervisor of a drug and alcohol treatment facility, she has been responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of treatment. Her widespread knowledge has included facilitating nationwide drug and alcohol interventions, drug court, substance abuse and psychotherapy groups, and providing individual, family and crisis counseling. Her knowledge in helping families and individuals overcome the challenging and devastating effects of substance abuse and mental health crisis issues has been the foundation of her professional career. She is passionate in her career that allows her to bring hope to families and individuals in crisis. Ana understands the importance of commitment and dedication and family is a cornerstone in her life. As a mother, she is sensitive, yet firm and carries these traits over in her work with interventions, treatment and recovery. Ana looks forward to the opportunity of helping you and your loved ones work through all of your treatment related concerns in a professional, compassionate and dignified manner.
Sean studied at Miami Dade Medical Campus and graduated as a Certified Contact Lens Examiner and Licensed Optician and is also an HIV/Aids and S.T.I. Awareness Counselor. Sean is currently studying at the Academy for Addiction Professionals working to obtain his Certification as an Addiction Professional. Sean is currently our Program Director and has been working at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center for approximately two years.
Dave LeClair, LCSW, CAP
Dave LeClair has over 20 years of experience working with the addicts and alcoholics in need of treatment services. Originally from New York and Connecticut, Dave has lived and worked in South Florida for the past eleven years. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Empire State College and a Masters of Social Work from Barry University. Dave became a Certified Addiction Professional in 2008 and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2009. Dave has level I, level II and advanced training in EMDR and he is a Certified Practitioner in Rapid Resolution Therapy both of which are used to treat trauma, PTSD, anxiety disorders and addictions. Dave uses a Motivational Interviewing style to help clients advance through the Stages of Change. Dave has a thorough grounding in the 12 step recovery model but he is a perpetual student who likes to bring evidenced based practices into the treatment setting. To this end he conducts a weekly clinical seminar for clinicians and employees on campus.
Michael Schlossman, JD
Primary Therapist/Director of Spiritual Development
Michael received his J.D. from New York Law School in 1992 and his BA from The George Washington University in 1989. He has been a member in good standing of the New York Bar since 1993. Michael is an Ordained Minister and spent 22 years as an attorney and documentary filmmaker, in New York and Los Angeles. Michael has recently left the corporate world to focus, full-time, on his vision of helping others alleviate their own suffering through spiritual guidance. For the past few years, Michael has been working with people in recovery to foster and help them grow their own spiritual roots. Currently, Michael facilitates spiritual groups here at the Ft Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center. He teaches and lectures the principles of forgiveness, love and abundance.
Catherine Warriner, BA. MS., RMFTI
Catherine has been at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center since August 2014 and conducts both group and individual therapy. Catherine received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University with emphasis in neurobiology and her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. Catherine currently serves as an active board member of the Broward Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and is an active volunteer in the Fort Lauderdale community. Catherine has training in relational and systemic therapy models, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution focus therapy, and 12 step recovery based therapy. Catherine brings with her 20 years of experience in the medical field working in Oncology/Hematology as well as Orthopedics and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is able to bring with her knowledge and compassion that helps individuals and families build a wider understanding of recovery with the connection of the body and mind relationship. In addition, she also provides weekly mediation and relaxation groups to helps clients in body and mind connection of recovery.
Katherine Townsend is a Florida native who was introduced to the substance abuse field when she overcame her struggle with addiction in 2011. Since that time, she has become an active member in the recovery community. She attends 12 step meetings, sponsors women, and shares her experience with addicts and alcoholics who are still struggling. Katherine was inspired by those who helped her and chose to continue her education to become a Social Worker in the substance abuse treatment field. She received an Associates of Science in 2013 from Broward College, and in now is working toward a Bachelors of Social Work at Florida Atlantic University. She is also a member of the South Florida Wellness Network which has provided her with Certification in Mental Health First Aid for crisis situations. Katherine uses her knowledge, experience and passion to help others and provide comprehensive case management services to all of the clients at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center.
Jacqueline Dawson, LMHC, CAP, SAP, ICADC
Jackie brings 14 years of experience in the field of social services to the team. Jackie received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University and completed a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. As a therapist, she has worked in a variety of settings including psychiatric hospitals, non-profit agencies, jails and prisons. Jackie has extensive training in 12 step recovery based therapy, anger management, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Jackie has local and international certifications in addictions and is also certified as a US Department of Transportation Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). Jackie is an active volunteer in the community and is passionate about mental health advocacy. She also serves as a Florida Designated Victim Services Practitioner and Broward County Medical Reserves Corps Volunteer.
Nicole Walck was born and raised in Southern New Jersey and found her way to Florida 6 years ago when she reached out for help with her own addiction battle. Since that time, Nicole has dedicated herself to the recovery community and it changed her life. She attends 12 step meetings on a regular basis, sponsors women, and always has her hand out to addicts and alcoholics who are still struggling. Recently, Nicole has gone back to school at Broward College to pursue a career in Social Work and is looking forward to seeing new avenues that continuing her education can bring about. Here at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center she uses her knowledge of this program and her own personal experience to make it a warm, comforting welcome into our facility.
Lead Behavioral Health Tech
Tony is currently studying at the Academy for Addictions Professionals, he is working toward his Certified Addictions Professional certification. Tony is an active member of the recovering community; he regularly attends AA and CMA Meetings, is involved at the service level in the CMA Community, and works closely as a Sponsor to other recovering addicts in the CMA Community. Tony’s career in the Treatment Industry began a year and a half ago when he was hired as a Behavioral Health Technician at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center. Tony worked as a Behavioral Health Technician for six months before getting promoted to the evening Behavioral Health Technician Shift Supervisor. After six months of working as a Behavioral Health Technician Shift Supervisor, Tony was promoted to the Lead Behavioral Health Technician.
Director of Marketing / Certified Arise Interventionist
Lindsay studied Early Education at the University of Miami and has been with Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center since 2013. With years of experience in sales and marketing, Lindsay has worked in the field of addiction since 2009 and has helped thousands of families and clients find the appropriate treatment facility to help overcome substance abuse.
Ed Walsh – Certified Addiction Counselor
HR Director / Utilization and Review Coordinator
Ed Walsh completed his addiction treatment certification at The Academy for Addiction professionals in Fort Lauderdale, FL and is currently a Certified Addiction Counselor also filling the roles of UR liaison, case coordinator and discharge specialist at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center.
Mr. Walsh has many years of experience in the field of addiction, including marketing, treating, and coordinating services for those who are affected by substance abuse and mental illness. Mr. Walsh brings compassion, patience, knowledge, and firsthand experience to his work. He has helped many to achieve and maintain successful sobriety. Ed Walsh is also active in the Rockers in Recovery program and brings his musicianship to our treatment center, skillfully demonstrating how creativity, passion, and fun go hand in hand with successful recovery from addiction. We are fortunate to have him on our staff.
Sheena Ross, RN
Sheena has been working at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center since May of 2014. Sheena is a registered nurse and is caring and compassionate with all of our patients here at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center. Sheena has been a practicing, registered nurse in the clinical setting for over 20 years. She graduated from the University of Miami at Jackson Memorial School of Nursing with her Diploma of Nursing in 1992 and Miami Dade College with her Associates of Science in Nursing in 1992.
Executive Administrative Assistant
Stefanie has many years of experience in the areas of administration and management field. Prior to working at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center Stefanie worked at a high volume law firm here in South Florida. She also worked for many years in property management and reservations in the state of Colorado. Stefanie has been an integral part of the administrative, logistical and executive departments here at Fort Lauderdale Addiction Treatment Center.
Bruce Williams is our transportation specialist. Bruce has been in recovery for 12 years. He has a bachelor’s in business administration and graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Bruce enjoys helping others who are struggling with addiction.
